Born and raised in South Africa, Barend Massow grew up in the countryside outside of Honeydew. He left Johannesburg in 1997 following his creative instincts.

Immediately, he had the idea to use the materials, the elements which had inspired his childhood, the wood, the glass, the light and imagined a special and first lampshade, the wooden bulb (www.suck.uk.com). This will be the key element of the new production.
From this unusual design concept featuring pieces assembled which resemble wooden light bulbs; Barend Massow has developed a new and complete range of lampshades.
